Why is GE Appliances conducting this recall?
As part of its commitment to product safety and our consumers, GE Appliances, a Haier company is voluntarily recalling certain GE Profile™ High-Efficiency Top-Loading Clothes Washers sold in the United States from June 2003 to October 2011 due to a risk of fire.

What is the issue that prompted the recall?
GE Appliances is conducting this recall due to reports of an electrical component in the washer overheating, posing a risk of fire. There have been no reports of injuries.

What is the repair?
GEA authorized service technicians will replace the affected component.

Which model and serial numbers are affected?
Recalled washers have the following model and serial number ranges:
Brand Model Number begins with: AND Serial Number begins with: GE Profile™ WPGT9350, WPGT9360, WPGT9150 All serial numbers with these models are affected. -
How can a consumer determine if the washer is affected by this recall?
The washers affected by this recall can be identified by matching the model number on the unit with those listed in the table above. The model number is located on a label on the rear cover of the washer’s backsplash, above the water valve connections.

Can consumers continue to use their washers while awaiting a repair?
Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the recalled washers and contact GE Appliances for a free in-home repair.
